May Trip Album #4 - Albuquerque to Santa Fe

Albuquerque

We came back to civilization for a couple of days (sort of). We spent an afternoon wondering around "Old Town" Albuquerque. It was warm enough that a shaved ice, in the shade was necessary and yummy. (I had frozen Lemonade). Old Town was pretty cute but not a lot was open, mid-week, slightly out of season. Still fun.

The sculpture garden at the museum was interesting. I thought this "Pig" statue was pretty cute. Turned out it was Don Quixote's head.

Kaktus Brewing in Bernalillo

When I was researching places to camp I found a Harvest Host that looked interesting. While I decided not to stay there we did go there for dinner. Sort of wished we had stayed there.  The pizza was excellent. We had the "Red Pumpkin" pizza with pumpkin, pine nuts, goat cheese, bacon and drizzled red chili-Yum! The beer wasn't our style so I had wine, Dean had a Root Beer and we shared a cider.

And there was music! The Blues Society started setting up and was that fun to watch. They brought in vintage speakers, and the musicians were a bit vintage too. We were only able to stay for the first song but WOW! it was amazing.

It looked like it would be a great place to stay on a Harvest Host visit. Great food! Wonderful music (most nights have something) and lots of fun things to explore. Next time we will stay at the Kaktus Brewing Co.

Black Canyon State Park
New Mexico

We had a nice campsite at Black Canyon State Park, just 15 minutes from Santa Fe. It was cold enough that Dean got his warm hat on and Watson had his coat and blankets to cuddle with.

There was a wealth of wildflowers
around our campsite.

Someone is ready to go.

Santa Fe

So much fun stuff to see in Santa Fe.
I'll just let you enjoy.

Got to love a big dog with a porch swing.

Heading out of Santa Fe for more adventures.
