Leaving Phoenix the desert was beautiful. There was an amazing amount of green visible and often the contrast of red earth was quite striking. |
We camped at Rim Campground in the Apache Sitgraves National Forest. It was a nice, small campground and only one other person camping in a tent. It was a bit windy and the other camper gave up middle of the night so we had the campground to ourselves. We were just a bit early in the season so we avoided a lot of the crowds. A few places weren't open yet.
